Bessie Lee Eunice Love passed away on June 17, 2017 at The Vistas Assisted Living facility in Redding, CA, following an extended illness.
Eunice was born on August 29, 1919 in Enid, Oklahoma as one of eight children in a farming family. Her formative years were spent in Southeastern New Mexico with an older brother. She attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she met, dated and married Earl G. Love, her husband of 77 years. Together they raised three children. Throughout her life she was dedicated to her husband and children as a "Stay at Home" mother. Eunice demonstrated her love for babies and young children by volunteering as a teachers aide in various schools.

Eunice had many interests outside the home, including square dancing, bridge, cooking and world travel. Earl and Eunice began square dancing in 1950 and continued for 60 years. They danced all over the western US, Hawaii, and Europe. In Redding they danced with the "Prairie Squares" dance group. Her interest in bridge progressed from social, or "party" bridge to competitive duplicate bridge. Her husband was her partner and coach. She earned enough bridge points to be nationally ranked. She started and managed the Redding YMCA bridge club.

When all her children left home she added boating on Lake Shasta and world travel to her interests. When Earl and Eunice arrived in Redding in 1976, they began exploring Lake Shasta. Their boat was in a slip at Bridge Bay for 25 years. Bridge Bay was her favorite place. After much urging, she learned to water ski. When her oldest son was in Germany, Eunice and Earl visited Europe twice. She visited most of the European countries. A trip through the Panama Canal introduced her to Central America. She invited all three children and spouses on a cruise to Alaska. Eunice lived a full and varied life. She never lost her love for babies and young children, her husband and family and Mount Shasta.

Eunice is survived by her husband Earl G. Love of Redding, CA,; and her children Earl "Ron" Love of Tuscon, AZ., Linda Jo Doniak of Redding, CA, Johathan C. Love of Sacramento, CA,; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Private final services will be held at 10:00am, June 28, 2017 at McDonald's Cemetery in Redding, CA.
